Channeling Audrey

We are back from a long, lazy vacation and have jumped right back into life here in Al Ain.  It's still hot, it's still sandy, and the people are still inconsiderate.  The good part is that I am super busy at work, so that has been making the first few weeks fly by (fingers crossed the rest of the year flies by as well!!)

I haven't been too great at taking pictures lately, so here are the pictures of what I have been up to via pinterest (or other blogs).

1.  Pumpkin Spice creamer...In the rest of the northern hemisphere it is slowing turning to fall.  Since there is no such season here, I have no excuse to wear my Uggs, and Starbucks doesn't do fall drinks here, I got so excited when I found this recipe for Pumpkin Spice creamer from Kitchen Meets Girl.  I have never actually liked the pumpkin spice latte Starbucks makes, but maybe I just wanted to rebel against the 100+ degree temperatures.  Regardless, it is really good, and I plan on making another batch this afternoon!!


2.  Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies...I became obsessed with the idea of salted chocolate ever since I had this bar of chocolate in the US this summer. 

It. Was. So. Good.  I started to see listing after listing for salted chocolate chip cookies, so I got myself some salt flakes and made a batch yesterday.  I just used the basic Toll House recipe and sprinkled a bit of salt on before baking.  Wow!  They are heaven!! 3.  Speaking of recipes, we made a rendition of this one twice last week.  I saw it on my favorite blog, The Londoner, and we altered the recipe a bit to our liking, but it will go on a regular rotation I think...really easy and REALLY good!!


We are also in the process of planning a little get away for winter vacation.  We had originally planned to go to New Zealand, but ticket prices have soared, so unfortunately I don't think it will happen.  Instead we are thinking a mini-vacation somewhere in Europe...stay tuned to hear more!!

I'm hoping to have a lazy Sunday...I mean Saturday (I have to get used to the weeks here again)...make my creamer, paint my nails...you know, that good stuff.  Hope you're having a nice NORMAL weekend, and get to enjoy your Saturday AND Sunday!!
