Now that I'm living in the UAE again my beloved Japanese iPhone is more of an iPod, really. Since it's locked, I can't really use it for anything unless I have wifi, and even then it's just for LINE or posting on Istagram or Twitter. Absolutely no phone capabilities whatsoever! It is serving as my point and shoot camera when I forget or don't bring the real camera along. Here are a few of the photos I've taken on it over the last few weeks - which may or may not have made it to Instagram.
G&T time on a Thursday afternoon.
A very funky mosque we discovered not far from our house.
We went to Dubai Mall at midday a few weeks ago and had a nightmare parking. We followed this guy into the parking garage (the low plate number is a tell-tale sign he's Ć¼ber rich, if the Ferrari wasn't proof enough).
When we left we followed them out of the mall. Porsches, Maseratis, Ferraris...wish we were that rich!
It is HOT here. (51c is about 124f for my fellow North Americans.)
Me, looking a bit like a bag lady at Green Mubazara while trying to dress middle east appropriately in that heat.
And from my most recent trip to Dubai, the bridge leading to Souk Al Bahar and the Dubai Mall Aquarium.
Thursday means it's the start of the weekend here in the UAE, and although we don't have any set plans, we're toying with the idea of going to Dubai for an Ikea run. It seems it just isn't the weekend at the Thomas house without a trip to Ikea! I hope you have a great weekend and I'll see you on Sunday!
