As I told you yesterday, on the way home from Dubai Mall we decided to take a little detour and drive through the desert a bit. Ok, so the entire drive to Dubai is through the desert, but this little road lets you go into the desert. Since it isn't so busy, there are plenty of places to pull over, get out of the car and walk on the dunes.
This is what the traditional "shopping centers" look like around here. Mostly they're along desert roads like this one, and in the much older parts of town. Don't worry, there are also completely modern, really nice shopping centers as well!
We pulled over on the side of the road at one place where the dunes were particularly pretty. I love the ripples created by the wind.
I'm anxious to head back out to the desert this winter when the weather cools down a bit (and I'm wearing more appropriate shoes!). The dunes are just screaming to be photographed!
